BLC OFFICIAL ARTIST 30/10/08 After the initial cover for BLA productions INTERBREEDING X , see about 5 news slots down, I did a few more large centre fold images for  the booklet. Well , my slightly disturbed , sexualy depraved, violent images seemed to go down very well over at BLC so I am now an offical artist for BLC productions. Expect lots more twisted , x rated sides to my art to crop up from time to time. Due to the influx of interest in cd cover art I thought it best to dedicate a whole gallery area just for this. I created another poster image to compliment The 8th Day image, over at the GOTHIC SKINS section of GALLERIES. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ NEW ART / ONE HOUR LIFE CYCLE 21/10/08 Speed painting experiment created in one hour. The creation and death of a life. Using one photo as a basis for manipulation and texture I set out to create the life cycle of a creature. I wanted rather then show the creature as a solid entity, to show it as a deformation of flesh. A constantly shifting form, it knows its dying so it struggles to keep its shape. It lives over at DREAMSCAPES in GALLERIES _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ NEW ART / 8th DAY 21/10/08   This was done for a good friend of mine who runs his own tattoo studio called TUFUGA ZOO and does all my tattoos. The brief was to create an image of him on a thrown of skulls and bones with the text ‘’on the eighth day God created …. Me ‘’ along the top. It’s a 7 foot by 4 foot banner to be shown at conventions and shows across the Uk. Christian Death where particulay good despite the negative response from some arogant trolls in the crowd. Ok so the exhibition, I think it went ok, there was a general crowd around the stand , I havent had any feedback as yet so dont know if it went down well or not. Here are some photos from the event. Kens been busy over the last six months covering my flesh with his unique take on my artwork , making it his own , twisting tentricles, macabre skulls, Soldier horns and decayed tree vampires grip my arm with vice like violence. I enjoy them all the same and I hope I haven't put any less effort into them but still the pressure of the AD role transfered over to my own work so the images where always done faster and faster. Not a bad thing , but for the next piece I set out to breath , to create an image that hasn't been done before. I'm sick to the teeth of opening up a magazine or browsing a gallery and seeing yet more fantasy skinny pretty woman, soft elf faces, derivative works of mainstream shit, pretty colorfully images for pretty colorful people.  So... it's a massive image, it will be done when its done, no rush , no pressure, so far its been a blast, its crippled my PC 3 times , its has no limits of thought, what I want , I create. I've started to give the website a new look, hope you like it. 5 new images added, see the latest 6 including  a cameo from an old character of mine SKULLHEAD. The Butterflysoldiers goes flesh and ink, more info and images on that soon.   _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ 21/10/2007 Its been a long time since I updated the news , so to let everyone know what's happening in the world of the ButterflySoldiers.. Last July I started work as the Art Director for Ubisoft Reflections aka Reflections Interactive,  after 5 years of a bored 3d grunt they finaly saw the light and let me loose on a game of my own, haha I have never seen so many worried faces all in one room , when I pitched the art direction for this particular title. I was confined by the genre and age market , so no dark moody horror or machine flesh crazies, its kind of the opposite to my own art,  ying yang , dark light , and all that, so in that respect its a nice balance.  Its been a fantastic experience , one which im sure will influence any future paths a great deal. It is almost complete, in the late nights and weekends stage, it has consumed me, the visual world I am creating is so engrained in me now that its all very personal and Im pushing the team extremely hard to maintain the world. I've had time to do a couple of my own artworks and a few CD covers for various metal bands ( all under NDA untill there release Im afraid ). Thats about it so far , the ButterflySoldier book has taken a strange direction, one which I will announce if and when if ever gets 100 percent complete. Lastly  as I sit at my computer desk in work late sunday, just myself and one other artist I shall tell you about a ButterflySoldier I saw/imagined whilst wondering the Lake District yesturday . She was soft and fragile, no armour, no buglike shapes, delicate and petite, thin sheets of brown, golden leaves lay on her flesh, in her flesh. She was Autumn. She glistened in reality, in the corner of my eye her shapes formed, upon glance she was gone, in the retiners eye but not in spirit. Getting into all the little animated bits and bobs, I think the black and white really makes a statement ? Anyway now thats done I have an idea for a series of images, 4 already planned in my head. I wont give anything away as yet but its something a have never done before and will have a distinct take on a popular theme. Wanting to see more, I searched the web - in vain. I probably searched some more over the next year and definately never came across anything further. Then I had a magazine "parring" back - stripping them all down to the bits I wanted to keep and dumping the rest. Yesterday, I had another parring back and a going through old bits and pieces that had been stashed in the loft in folders etc... I came across the Pc Format cutout and thought I'd have a check up on the web and was happy to find your site. So, 9 years on, I'm pleased to have re-discovered your art work and this is just to say, thinking it was really cool then, its super-cool now'  9 years , wow I cant believe its been that long, I still remember painting some of the image like it was yesturday,  still have them somewhere, an acrylic painting of 'Skullhead ', a biomachanical soldier on steroids and THE MAZE, godlike 400ft tall Maze guardians., I still have the Skullhead painting but unfortunately the 5ft square painting of a twisted maze guard was lost . 05/02/07 Its with great pleasure that I announce that 'Head Of State' is to be used as the cover art for FUTRONIK STRUCTURE Vol 5.. 10 Years of DSBP. I have been a huge fan of the Industrial music label DSBP and of Tommy T's radio show for a long time, always dedicated to premoting  the Industrial / Alternative music scene, its fantastic to be part of that. I've done a backliner image as well but still tweaking that.   01/02/07 Not sure if anyone reads this but for those who do here's an update on my current state of affairs. Online presence and new work may seem to be a tad slow at the minute, I am working on a project but unfortunately am unable to show any of the work I am creating on the web site or in online galleries, client / project confidentiality ect. The Butterfly Soldier book has also been put on the backburner for while because of this project but it will be completed within the next 6 months , written story and 40 new images even if I have to go to hell and back to do it. There is one new image that although again I cant show online will be in issue 15 of Imagine FX, it was done for a tutorial, a very dreamy , surreal image of an imp riding on the back of a twisted dog man, a pusher of dreams and nightmares. I've spent a little whilst looking for an agent recently with no success, commissions aren't that important to me, only the art, but having projects that drive and inspire me would be worth seeking out, I had no replies from a couple of illustration agencies so wont bother again until I free up more time for them but if anyone reading this knows of a suitable agent who might be interested in the art please get in touch Best Wishes Paul Does anyone read this?   05/01/07 'Wishing everyone a happy new year'. 2007 for myself shall bring the completion of the ButterflySoldier book, something thats been ongoing for way too long and I need to get stuck in to some graft and get in done. Lots of very interesting projects on the horizon that are facinating to work with, movie projects ect.   01/12/06 Website has had a slight facelift, the gallery section now contains more information and is compartmentalised , allowing the different conceptual images to be shown in clusters. 2 new sections added. DREAMS AND VISIONS and TV/FILM/CONCEPT. More news soon.... 30/06/06 Currently working on two things, a logo for Foxgerhard and the image of a forest of killer monkey trees made from rusted steel and rotten flesh. Had a concept of egyptian rhyno headed bikers, but thats been but on hold untill after this years Bulldog bash were am sure I can gather a mass of reference material. 02/06/06 Kronos is featured in next months ITS ART MAGAZINE, ( issue 05 ), a short biography and some info on the image and the butterfly soldier concept. Also some interest has been shown in doing a possible interview with me for a forthcoming issue. I realy hope this comes off so I will have the chance to try and explain whats in my head at the moment. 21/05/06 The very inspiring well known artist Eric Scala mentioned me in an interview with ITS ART magazine.
